Review:
Season 1 Rating: [Watch it] / It depends / Skip it
  • Marvel's Netflix ventures have looked at marginalized populations, from Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage to military veterans. I've only seen half of this season, but instead of focusing on the revenge aspect, the season looks at what it takes for veterans to integrate into society. We get to see that from a few perspectives.
While my interest in Marvel's Netflix series had waned, the more grounded nature of this really helps. We don't have (yet) immortal beings and ninjas. It's one man grappling with how he fits in the world.

 Trivia:
  • Previously seen in Season 2 of Daredevil, The Punisher got a stand alone series.
  • Corbin Bernsen and Annette O'Toole join the season 2 cast as reported on May 10, 2018. Bernsen is set to play Anderson Schultz, an extremely wealthy man who gets his way. His power and legacy are of prime importance, and he will implement less-than-legal means to further those ends. O'Toole is his equally manipulative wife.
  • Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, and Giorgia Whigham join the season 2 cast. Stewart will play John Pilgrim, a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him into Frank Castle's world. Lima will play Krista Dumont, a smart, compassionate, and driven psychotherapist for military veterans. Giorgia Whigham will play Amy Bendix, a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past.
  • Reported as canceled on February 18, 2019.
