Plot:
Tony Danza
is back on television, playing disgraced former NYPD officer Tony Sr. who never followed the
rules. He lives with his son, an earnest, obsessively honest NYPD
detective Tony Jr., played by singer-songwriter Josh Groban, who makes a
point of always following the rules. This odd couple becomes unofficial
partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise
advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.Monica Barbaro plays Cara Vasquez, a street smart and self-assured detective on the All-City Homicide Task Force. She believes in getting the job done, even if that means bending the rules, which contrasts with her by-the-book partner, TJ Caruso.
Isiah Whitlock Jr. plays Burl Loomis. He's counting down to retirement. Slow on his feet with a deadpan retort, he has no patience for the department's younger officers.
