I'm excited for The Force Awakens. It's Star Wars and that is a big deal. I remember watching the original trilogy countless times growing up.
When Episode 1 came out in 1999, it was an event. The hype was insane. Unfortunately the prequel trilogy didn't live up to expectations. Despite that, I'm still hyped for December 18, when The Force Awakens releases.
Oscar Isaac has proven himself as an impeccable actor. If he's in a film, I will watch it. J.J. Abrams is a competent director, making entertaining films such as Star Trek films and Super 8. So, on to the trailer and my wild speculations.
Wow. I can't wait until December 18.
Great imagery throughout. Daisy Ridley's Rey appears to be a scavenger with her companion BB-8. Could she be a Luke Skywalker type?

John Boyega's Finn as a repentant Storm trooper is a great angle. Is the crashed tie fighter how he ends up on the planet? I'm willing to bet it's just editing for the trailer and it's not actually him. If he was in a Tie fighter, would he be wearing street clothes upon crashing? Though, it could have been an escape gone wrong. Either way it looks like he's on the same planet as Rey, and didn't intend to be there.

The Millennium Falcon, the music, and then Harrison Ford. "It's all true. All of it." Harrison Ford's Han Solo states. Wow. Some how he teams up with Finn and Rey.

As we see Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron pat the shoulder of John Boyega, the voice over states "a jedi" as the camera cuts to a close up of Boyega. So John Boyega is a former Storm trooper now a Jedi?

BB-8 is in an X-wing, and the shot immediately cuts to Poe Dameron. Is BB-8 in Poe's ship? It makes sense that Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron somehow meet up.
R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker. Based on teaser trailer #2, I'm betting the mechanical hand that touches R2-D2 is Luke.
Princess Leia! All the old faces, but no direct shot of Mark Hamill, though he is listed prominently in the credits on imdb.com.
Confirmed Boyega's Finn is a Jedi wielding his blue light saber. Looks like he is fighting an unmasked Kylo Ren.

We only see Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron for two clips, but I'm betting his role is larger than that.
Of course trailer's often edit scenes together to create a narrative that isn't reflective of the movie. With the Star Wars hype, this is the case here, but how will the movie differ? Who mentors Finn? He doesn't seem to be a Jedi when he potentially crash lands. Could it be Luke Skywalker in a Yoda type role?
I predictt unexpected twists with Kylo Ren's backstory.
I didn't see Captain Phasma in this trailer, though the character was in teaser trailer #2. This seems to be a Boba Fett type character. I'm not sure Phasma will get much screen time.
Let's talk about the movie poster, recently revealed. It follows the blue/orange motif typical of movie posters, but I appreciate the level of artistry that is lacking in contemporary movie posters. Look back at the '80s and movie posters hired artists to create them. Now we just get a screen grab of the movie for the poster, that or bad photoshops.
