Plot
A detective recruits his Uber driver into an unexpected night of adventure.

Verdict
It's an able comedy that delivers a lot of action. You get what's advertised, an odd couple buddy cop movie. Bautista is the macho muscle while Nanjiani delivers deadpan retorts. This is an above average comedy that's a pretty easy watch.
It depends.

Review

Bautista plays Vic Manning the macho cop who doesn't cry while Nanjiani plays Stu. A stereotypical modern man that isn't afraid to show any amount of emotion. They are thrown together when Vic needs Uber due to eye surgery and then must catch a drug dealer before it's too late.

It was clear glasses were going to be an issue with Vic wearing glasses and constantly adjusting them. I have to wonder how it never came up in all his years as an officer. Maybe he's getting older and just started needing glasses.
Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjinai play Vic and Stu.
The setup is pretty standard. Vic gets eye surgery to correct his vision and can't see. His daughter shows him the Uber app and that's when Stu comes it. Stu is desperate to get a five star review. There are lots of jokes based on Vic's ignorance of Uber.

There's great chemistry between the leads. If you've seen Nanjiani anywhere else then you're used to his usual style of humor. I appreciate that his character has a bit of depth to his character. He wants to end this Uber ride so he can see a woman that he really likes. Vic is supposed to go to his daughter's art show, but instead is chasing a criminal.
Vic is emotionally distant while Stu embraces his feelings. Of course they both change each other for the better, developing a camaraderie during their adventure. For most of the night Stu is out of his depth, asked to chase criminals and hold a firearm.
They make each other better. This is a silly movie, but it's an easy watch.
