Plot
Deadpool is offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction.
Verdict
The Deadpool movies are always irreverent, crude fun and this one is no different. It's a standout sequel that takes the foundation of the previous movies, namely the humor and wisecracking character and puts him in several situations that accentuate the character's style. It continually builds up expectations only to subvert them. While it can be silly, that fits the character as Deadpool often breaks the fourth wall. This is never less than entertaining and the way it features several super hero cameos is well done. There are so many scenes that are absolutely worth the price of admission by themselves. This is creative, inventive, vulgar, and a stand out super hero film in a genre that has recently become diluted.
Watch It.
Review
This is irreverent from the beginning. True to the comic book character, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) breaks the fourth wall to discuss studios and the rights to the Deadpool movies before he digs up the Wolverine from Logan who Deadpool insists can't be dead. He soon ends up in a fight with the TVA (Time Variance Authority) while also dancing to NSYNC. The TVA first appeared in Loki, and has become in plot point in several recent Marvel properties.

It's the silliness and constant references that make this movie series so much fun. It's ridiculous and over the top, and you never know what to expect. Deadpool searches for a Wolverine to save his own world in a sequence that features a number of variations, including a very rare version of Wolverine.
Deadpool finally finds a Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) willing to help as they start a doomed journey to save a world. They don't get along and constantly fight. With two people that have regenerative abilities, their fights are brutal.
This is stuffed with so many references and in-jokes. Deadpool and Wolverine encounter a super hero they hope will help them, and they and the audience mistake him for a different hero. This does a great job with cameos that work on multiple levels. They're found in the void, which explains why we haven't seen them and also hints at the lack of desire for some of the characters to get a sequel. The music is also great. There are so many great scenes that shouldn't be discussed to avoid spoilers and the surprise.
Deadpool is a character that can't stop talking, is always quick to make a crude joke, but he always enjoys the moment. While I've grown tired of the constant churn of super hero movies, this has always been a counter to the mainstream genre. I realize I've just grown tired of the formula following Marvel movies. This series continues to defy conventions, continuing to get better. It knows what you expect to happen and always tries to subvert that expectation.
