Plot
A detective turned restaurant inspector in Key West is pulled into a world of greed and corruption after a tourist finds a severed arm while fishing. And yes, there's a monkey.

Verdict
Vince Vaughn riffing through each scene is easily the best part of this. The mystery is only mildly interesting, more convoluted and scattered than it needs to be, and never as fulfilling as it should be. This is full of characters but they feel more like props than people.
It depends.

Review
I'm a fan of Vince Vaughn, so a show where he's a restaurant inspector with a monkey solving crimes intrigued me. It turns out he's an ex-cop and the monkey isn't his. The premise I expected isn't quite what I got.

Suspended detective Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) can't turn down a case. When a severed arm turns up on a fishing cruise, he feels compelled to solve the case. It's not a great first episode. I like Vaughn, but the plot and story don't start to come together until half way in. Even then, Vaughn is the only draw.

Vince Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy

The driving plot is developers ruining Key West with extravagant homes. Yancy's severed arm case is related, but we also follow Neville (Ronald Peet) who tries to stop developers from demolishing his house. Eventually Neville and Yancy connect as their plights intersect. The monkey is Neville's.

Yancy has a wild adventure chasing down clues, teaming up with medical examiner Rosa (Natalie Martinez), and even gets some help from his former partner.

It's a twisting mystery with alliances always shifting, but it was never as interesting as watching Vaughn ad-lib lines. If you're not a fan of Vince Vaughn, I don't think you'll find much to like here.
