Plot
Andy leads immortal warriors against a powerful enemy threatening their group. They grapple with the resurfacing of a long-lost immortal, complicating their mission to safeguard humanity.

Verdict
The premise is flimsy. The entire movie is so mindless that I can't overcome my boredom. What's the point? I don't know if this even gives us a reason why the immortals are fighting. This was never good, but the ending just makes it worse. This movie doesn't get a conclusion. It stops mid-scene, hoping it will get a sequel. It doesn't matter, I won't be tricked again.
Skip it.

Review
A sequel to The Old Guard, I'm surprised this got an addition. It was an interesting idea that became a rather typical action movie. In the first, a group of mercenaries take on rescue missions, discover another of their kind, and are targeted for their abilities. Though jaded, at the end of the movie they're shown how their missions have changed the world.

In the opening sequence Quỳnh (Veronica Ngô) is rescued from imprisonment. If you don't recall, she was in the first movie briefly. The next sequence is the immortal team on some job, just to show us they can't die.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Charlize Theron play , Andy

Andy (Charlize Theron) tracks down a curator that keeps information on immortals. The premise is flimsy. Why does Andy need to meet this reclusive immortal that none of her immortal friends have ever even met? I get why Quỳnh is after Andy. They have a past that was mentioned in the first movie. For whatever reason Nile (KiKi Layne) is the "last" immortal. I'm not sure how anyone even knows that. Discord (Uma Thurman) appears as she's the first immortal. We don't know where she's been, but the last immortal needs a bookend.

Uma Thurman plays Discord

I was so bored during this movie. Discord is bad because the movie needs a villain. Discord has lost her immortality like Andy did in the first movie. While we thought that was due to Andy's age, this movie fabricates a new reason, but that somehow doesn't apply to Discord. Yet it's also the reason Discord is after Andy's team. She wants immortality back. After all of this Andy and Quỳnh reconcile and vow to take down Discord. They run out the door and the movie ends. I sat through this movie, and I don't even get a satisfactory conclusion. I was irritated the first movie hinted at a sequel. This movie doesn't hint, it decides to hold us hostage and not even complete the movie.

While I had low expectations for this movie, I was still disappointed. The first movie had an interesting premise, and this squanders it. Why didn't this explore all the people the team had helped over the years? Instead it doubles down on mindless action with an uninspiring story.
