Plot
All-around good dog Bull discovers he's going to be neutered in the morning. He realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of buddies. What could go wrong?
Verdict
A dog is getting fixed. Nearly all of the humor revolves around that concept as the dog and his friends go on one last crazy night out. I always find crude animated comedies odd. The medium is generally associated with children, but this is anything but. Even then this is crass more than comical; lots of balls, ball jokes, and animated butt holes. The only twist to this age old story of one last hurrah and a big night out is that it's animated and crude.
Skip it.
Review
After Primal, I'm going to check out any show from Genndy Tartakovsky. Unfortunately this isn't on the same level.
A lovable puppy becomes a mischievous dog, Bull. In his neighborhood, Bull is one of the few dogs in his group who isn't neutered. It's a source of pride for him as he builds his identity around that. If you didn't know where the plot was going, it would be easy to guess Bull would get neutered. There's plenty of foreshadowing. One of the other dogs even tells Bull and friends what happens before the surgery. That's why Bull grew suspicious when his family encourages him to drink out of the toilet and spoils him.
He must escape, running away from his family. He insults and drives his friends away, forced to escape his fate alone. That is, before his friends come back to rescue him. From there it's a wild night out with lots of talk about balls.
It's a well used story; one last night out, a big party. The unique part of this is that it's R rated animation, but it's not particularly funny. It's just crude with lots of animated dog butt holes.
It all works out in the end despite the misadventures, but this just isn't very engaging. I don't mind crude if it's funny. This is vulgar, thinking that alone is enough to be funny.
