Plot:
An alien outcast by his species finds a girl searching for her mom.
Review:
It starts out a bit slow, but the last half is very good, which is due in part to the first half. As parts of the story conclude, it is very touching. It was much better than I anticipated. I found the character of Oh, voiced by Jim Parsons, slightly annoying, but that could be a design choice. The soundtrack distracted more than it helped.
It depends.

A Norwegian deep sea diver tries to uncover the truth after an unfortunate accident on the ocean floor.
Review:
The trailer seemed to hint at something more supernatural. On that front the movie completely failed. While the movie is fairly intense throughout, the stakes just aren't high enough. I don't care enough about the main character and the resolution falls flat.
Skip it.

Plot:
In a single step, Troy Duffy went from bartender to writer/director/producer. With another step, it was all gone.
Review:
A documentary that becomes a cautionary tale, it portrays the amazing arrogance of Troy Duffy. Seeing him in action, it's easy to identify the impediment to creating his movie Boondock Saints. He derides friends, family, actors, and anyone else he contacts. After being blacklisted in Hollywood, he did eventually direct his script. With no training, he did an amazing job directing it. His claims of being a mainstay in the industry never went very far. No one thought Troy Duffy would be a bigger sensation than Duffy himself.
Rent it.
