Plot
A man's obsession with his designer deerskin jacket causes him to blow his life savings and turn to crime.

Verdict
This movie is bonkers. What may seem like a midlife crisis quickly turns sinister. Putting a jacket at the center of this movie works surprisingly well. It's a fine line between crazy and art, and this movie is doing a bit of both. The jacket wants to be the only jacket in the world, and the man wants to be the only person wearing a jacket in the world.
Watch it.

Review
In one of the first scenes I don't know if Georges had a revelation about his sport jacket or life. Is Geroges overthrowing the establishment and rebelling by wearing this fringed deerskin jacket? The way he disposes of his sport coat is odd too.

The deerskin jacket.

Per Google, Georges paid nine thousand dollars for this jacket which seems like a bit of an overpay. I'm sure part of the joke is that the jacket doesn't even fit him well. At first it seems that he may be having a mid-life crisis and the jacket is a way for him to be a different person. Soon it seems the new lease on life might be crazy instead.

I give the movie credit for such a unique concept. This jacket thing is ridiculous, and on top of that Georges has lied his way into making some kind of indie movie which feels like meta commentary. I get why Denise thinks this guy is just an eccentric film maker. Some indie movies are filmed like this, guerrilla style with a very loose concept as the artist flies by the seat of his pants.

Georges and Denise.

It's a fine line between art and crazy, but the jacket speaks to Georges. We don't know if Georges thinks that or it's true.

The ending it out of left field, but it completely works for the movie. After watching this, I realized the director also made Rubber, the movie about a sentient psyonic tire. This movie is equally strange, but if you're tired of typical movies this is the ticket.
