Multi-millionaire John DuPont creates Team Foxcatcher and sponsors wrestler Mark Schultz's training for the 1988 Olympics.
Verdict
A creepy Carrell immerses us in this movie, but this doesn't delve far enough into the character to get a sense of who he is or what he really wants.

Review:
It's incredibly slow, but never dull. It is well acted all around. While Steve Carell does a great job, I wouldn't call this his best performance, I like The Way Way Back. This intriguing character of DuPont is a man child that always gets his way, and he doesn't know how to react when he doesn't. He definitely has mommy issues.
The opening scenes reflect great writing. The movie avoids exposition of having Mark Schultz talk about how poor he is. We see him get a check and immediately buy a hamburger. For dinner he eats Ramen noodles. Without a word, we know he has little money and few prospects.
We never learn much about Dupont other than this created fantasy world that he lives in and lures Mark into. Is this wrestling team a ploy to defy or to impress his mother? Mark is just trying to step out from his brothers shadow, ultimately playing a tangential role in his brother's demise.
