Plot
In this Netflix distributed series set in Australia, a police constable is called to a cemetery and discovers six people alive and risen from the dead, perfectly healthy.
The newly living have no memories, and the police constable and town doctor struggle to keep the case secret and determine who these people are, discovering that each of them is inexplicably linked.
Verdict
Sometimes the questions are best left unanswered. Season 1 was a character focused drama and season 2 beings chasing conspiracies. New types of 'beings' are introduced and the focus is action heavy. What I liked about the first season is gone.
Skip it.
Review
This picks up right where season 1 ended, without even an introduction. After watching season 1 (read my review), I was concerned the story was going to suffer, falling into typical conspiracy tropes. That's exactly what happened.
There are still some character moments as their stories from season one evolve, but this isn't the same show. The cop is busy chasing down conspiracies. There are multiple beings trying to kill the glitched, calling them an aberration that must be eradicated. These beings are just bonkers.
John and Elishia's pasts get a conspiracy on top of a conspiracy as they aren't anything like what we thought.
On the upside it's short.
