Plot
A fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they started fighting for their country in the 1920s.

Verdict
This is such a fun idea, using historical figures in a fictional adventure. While the movie is lengthy, it never waits too long to be entertaining and over the the top. This movie can be very wild, but it feels like a legendary tall tale about India's revolution for independence. It's a well crafted and epic story. While this could try to be more realistic, who wants to sacrifice fun for facts? This is a movie, and the tone this sets is entertaining with little downtime. This manages to be enjoyable while also persuading me to ready about India's history. While it is subbed and dubbed, the dub is really good.
Watch It.

Review
This is the most expensive Indian film to date. The plot focuses on two historical revolutionaries, though this movie is entirely fiction. They never actually met. Raju opposed British rule in the 1920s, and Bheem was a revolutionary during the 1930s in British India.

I had heard quite a bit about this movie, how it's action, comedy, and more in one movie. While the runtime seemed daunting, it's worth the watch.

This sets up the plot with why India wants to revolt. The British are unnecessarily cruel. This is definitely dramatic with closeups, slow motion, and overbearing music. That's not a fault. We see Raju (Ram Charan) jump over an eight foot tall fence and take on a crowd of thousands. This movie is letting you know how to watch it, and what it will be.

N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan play Bheem, Raju

Despite exemplary performance, Raju doesn't get the promotion. He's Indian working for the British, and it leads you to wonder why. We get his frustration as he punches through a punching bag. This movie does a fair amount of storytelling without any dialog. That's what helps this movie. There's a solid narrative foundation, and the action is stylistic to enhance the plot rather than the only draw.

We're introduced to Bheem (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.) as he fights a mountain lion and tiger. This movie is just wild, and that's what makes it fun. Not many movies go to this extreme. The action keeps the plot moving, but there is a story to this and the movie doesn't insult us by providing unnecessary exposition by over explaining what's happening. This movie trusts us.

Ram Charan, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. play Raju, Bheem

Raju and Bheem are on opposite sides, but they meet, unaware of the other's identity, while trying to save a kid. We get a musical montage as they become friends while trying to infiltrate the other's organization. There's even a dance off and a plan that involves unleashing wild animals at a party.

I wondered why Raju works for the British and we do get an answer, but not before Raju has to maintain his cover by flogging Bheem. Eventually they do team up. This is an epic movie. My favorite action scene is when a man is thrown from a car, grabs a gun in mid-air and shoots another car causing it to flip. The action is wild. This movie swings big and makes it work. There are some really nice moments between characters, but this movie never forgets to be entertaining, even at the sake of realism. This movie makes this fun, doing it incredibly well. It's a long movie, but there isn't a lot of padding. Action ties together a rather strong narrative.
