Plot
Covert black ops and espionage take a back seat to zany personalities and relationships between secret agents and drones.

Verdict
It's a show as sharp as it is crude. These agents are self absorbed beyond fault, and they never miss a chance to put each other down. These people are cruel, and it's the unbelievable absurdity that makes this shockingly funny. I only got through season seven. This is not a narrative driven show, and I had gotten my fill. That's more to do with binging the seasons than the quality of this show. It's very smart, but it is crass.
It depends.

Review
This is spy craft with juvenile acting spies that are crass and crude. It's how ridiculous these people are that makes this funny. The dialog is quick with plenty of double entendre, but what they say to each other is absolutely crude. It's raunchy and these characters are selfish beyond belief. Archer is the main character and the worst by every metric. He's a misogynistic, stupid, alarmingly narcissistic, alcoholic with deep mother issues. This is quotable just because of how ridiculous some of the dialog can be. It's irreverent and offensive, but it skewers everyone. The main character is completely disconnected from reality. He's terrible in nearly every way and that's what makes this funny and ridiculous. The supporting cast is nearly as bad with their own quirks.

The first couple of seasons are episodic with a few overarching plot lines. In the first season Lana and Cyril's romance is up and down. Archer's Russian fiance is a reoccurring character. Season three becomes more serialized.

This show links nearly every scene with dialog continuing across scenes. It's endlessly quotable with most quotes along the lines of the following.
“You cant tattoo a freaking baby!”
“Yeah that's what the tattoo artist said too so I slipped him another $100"

During the seventh season I started to get tired of the show. It does have some plot development, but it's mostly episodic, full of gags and jokes. It's not a show to binge watch, but it would certainly be a show I would watch when each new season premiered.
