Plot
A look at how the intense relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gives birth to psychoanalysis.

Verdict
Based on a play, it's a dialog heavy movie. The basis for this movie is Jung and his patient that becomes a relationship. There just isn't enough here despite the concepts this introduces. I wanted more from this movie. Jung and Freud's scenes are the best parts of this movie, but it's not enough and they don't happen frequently enough.
Skip it.

Review
We see the birth of psychoanalysis through Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender). Freud (Viggo Mortensen) shapes his vision as a mentor that believes sex is the underlying motivation in every situation. Sabina (Keira Knightley) is a patient and later assistant to Jung while they also have a personal relationship.

Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender play Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung

Sabina must overcome how embarrassment debilitates her. Jung wants to do that not through shock therapy but through talking and discussion. He does help her, and it's this treatment that serves as the foundation to change psycho analysis.

This has a bunch of facts, and while the scenes between Jung and Freud are tense and intriguing, overall this feels a bit too stale. It's a talkative movie. While it twists these concepts together to form a method of treatment, I was never invested in this movie. There's no connection.
