Plot
After a woman leaves a briefcase at the airport terminal, a dumb limo driver and his dumber friend set out on a hilarious cross-country road trip to Aspen to return it.

Verdict
With the flimsiest of plots two stupid men begin a cross country trip. They get into and out of plenty of trouble, but I never find slapstick, juvenile comedies very funny. This movie is steeped in both unfortunately. Lloyd and Harry really are sixth graders in adult bodies, and this movie never strays from that. Their ridiculous antics are completely silly, and this doesn't stray from that premise.
Skip it.

Review
Carrey released Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber in 1994. It was the beginning of his rise to fame as all three landed at number one at the box office. The Cable Guy still remains my favorite over the top Carrey comedy.

I don't care for slapstick, juvenile comedies. With that, I don't know why I watched this again.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels play Lloyd and Harry

This lives up to the title. It's certainly dumb, but there's something to watching Carrey overact. Jeff Daniels is the perfect foil, and Carrey wanted Daniels despite the studio's opposing opinions. The studio wanted two comedians, but  that would have devolved into both actors trying to outdo the other.

Jim Carrey plays Lloyd Christmas

This really is a collection of childish humor. Lloyd (Jim Carrey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) head to Aspen to return a briefcase. Everything about this briefcase is silly, but it's purpose is to drive the plot. Harry and Lloyd stumble into and out of trouble, from burly truckers to kidnappers. The plot consists of gross out humor and gags. Which is also how the pair make it through the story.

I've heard people rave about this comedy, but it's just not my style. Slapstick, gross out never has been. The whole movie revolves around how dumb these guys are. You have to suspend you disbelief that they can get anything done.
