Verdict
Season one had a lot of potential that never paid off. This show has yet to payoff a scene we saw in the first episode of season one. The first two seasons could have been condensed into one. I'm unwilling to wait any longer to see if this show gets better. It keeps teasing things to come that don't happen. Is there a supernatural force at work or is it just scared, starving teens in the woods. Will the present day plot line ever become meaningful? It's doubtful.
Skip it.

Review
The first season was okay, but the first episode of that season dangled a reveal that never came, and throughout the season I wondered how would we get there. The answer is we didn't in that season. That made my expectations even higher this season as I want answers. I was disappointed with this season, and expected another episode until I realized episode nine was the finale.

The first season ended with a lot of questions unanswered, making the season feel like a trailer. This seasons introduces us to more of the present day stranded. There are beginnings of a cult in the past and there some inklings of that in the present. This show wants to create parallels between past and present but it often falls short. We get teasers of some kind of presence in the woods when they were stranded and the show often backs away from that or ignores events altogether. This show is too far in to not have a definitive answer.

The present day plots are often a distraction. Episode three provides a backstory for a side character. With the number of questions remaining this seems like padding. This episode doesn't push the plot forward.

In episode six Shauna, Natalie, Misty, Taissa, Van and Lottie end up together in a wellness center. It certainly seems like something is bringing them back together, and that we'll get more information. Unfortunately we only get hints. The present day plot doesn't add much.

In the past the show heavily implies there is some kind of force in the woods then you wonder if their visions are from starvation. The questions remains even after two seasons, what happened in the woods. This show has not lived up to the promise of the first episode of season one. I'm not sure this will close the loop. While the soundtrack is always excellent with a lot of 90s music and remixes, this is still holding out. The lack of answers has gone too far.

T didn't realize episode nine was the season finale. I was expecting another episode which indicates the lack of a satisfactory conclusion. Each episode I hoped this would provide answers. With each episode I began to doubt this show. At this point, I don't need a third season.
