Plot
Professionals transport cars from Mexico to El Paso, Texas, restore them, and turn junkers into jewels.

Verdict
These reality car shows are mostly the same. The shops build cars while omitting the amount of time and detail it takes. This show at least skips most of the manufactured drama. We see them buy a car, tear it down, and then it's magically transformed. This is better than some of the car shows, but it's still just a way to pass the time. You'll be drawn to this if you're a car person, but that will also cause you to nitpick the builds.
It depends.

Review
This shop buys cars from Mexico due to how cheap they are and flips them in the states. I like that this works on more typical cars as compared to some of these car repair shows. This works on mostly classic cars, putting their own twist on a them. They build a 90s Camaro, 60s Mustang, '49 Cadillac, Bronco, and more. I do wonder if cars in Mexico are really this cheap. You'd think more people would try to buy them and drive up demand. Since these cars are older, it doesn't present any titling issues bringing them over.

These shows don't show the sheer amount of work it takes to build these cars. In one scene it's a rust bucket, in the next it's pristine. These builds take time as well as planning around interior, exterior, and engine. The show makes it seem like these cars are built in days. In reality it's weeks if not months.

These shows always build some kind of drama, but in this one it's mild. It's a combination of a profit goal and whether they can build enough cars to reach that goal. It's almost always a profit issue. If they can't make the money, the shop will have to close down. Getting a shop off the ground isn't easy. The crew doesn't even choose a name for their shop until the end of the season, and the name of the shop is not Tex Mex Motors.
