Plot
After his brother returns home from war, Jacob Singer struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images.
Verdict
At least it's not a shot for shot remake of the 1991 movie, but that's about all I can say for it. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's not bad enough to be entertaining.
Skip it.
Review
I've seen the 1991 Tim Robbins movie, and I knew this wouldn't compare, but I was curious how it would update. It's got the same focus on post traumatic stress, but this isn't trying anything new and that's usually a recipe for failure. The 1991 movie had a great ending and while this tweaks it slightly, it's not enough to help the movie stand out.
This is some kind of ode to the original, but if you liked the 1991 version you should skip this entirely. If like this one at all then you should quit while you're ahead and find the original.
