American Vandal Season 1 (September 15)

This half-hour true-crime satire explores the aftermath of a costly high school prank that left twenty-seven faculty cars vandalized with phallic images. An aspiring sophomore documentarian investigates the controversial and potentially unjust expulsion of troubled senior (and known dick-drawer) Dylan Maxwell. Not unlike its now iconic true-crime predecessors, the addictive series will leave one question on everyone's minds until the very end: Who drew the dicks?
From co-creators Tony Yacenda (Pillow Talking) and Dan Perrault (Honest Trailers), and showrunner Dan Lagana (Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous).

The Five Season 1 (September 15) - Limited Availability

Netflix Distributed Series - 10 episodes
Twenty years after four young friends believed one of their brothers was killed, though never found, the supposedly dead brother's DNA is found at a crime scene. The four friends reuinte to find the missing person.
This premiered in the UK in April 2016, with a follow up eight part series The Four in the works.
This series is written by best selling author Harlan Coben, his first original television series venture. Coben's series Safe, starring Michael C. Hall is set for release in 2018.

McKeyla and her friends work for a secretive organization and use their intelligence and skills in science to protect the world.

Strong Island (September 15)

Netflix Distributed Documentary
Premiering earlier at Sundance, Strong Island tells the story of director Yance Ford's brother William. William was killed by a white nineteen year old mechanic. Although William was unarmed, his murderer was let go.

Jerry Seinfeld: Jerry Before Seinfeld (September 19)

Netflix Comedy Special
This is the first of Seinfeld's two comedy specials for Netflix. This one was filmed at the Comic Strip in NYC, new material is interspersed with childhood videos and legal pads dating to 1975 with every joke he's written.
Seinfeld is also working on new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Fuller House Season 3 Part 1 (September 22)

Gaga: Five Foot Two (September 22)

Netflix Original Documentary
The hour long documentary depicts a year in the life, looking at the unguarded Gaga through personal highs and lows. She pushes through chronic pain and produced an album, while we also go behind-the-scenes of Gaga's epic performance at this year's Super Bowl Halftime show.
Lady Gaga announced the documentary's release date on August 23.

Netflix Series - 6 episodes
Comedian Jack Whitehall takes his unadventurous father Michael, a former theatrical agent, on a a six week trip through Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Netflix Kids Series
The kids are back at Walkerville School for another school year of astonishing, out-of-this-world field trips. The new modernized iteration of this franchise will focus on modern inventions like robotics and wearables. Kate McKinnon will voice the new Ms. Frizzle, the younger sister of Professor Frizzle (Lily Tomlin). Lin-Manuel Miranda reimagined the classic theme song.

Neo Yokio (September 22)

Netflix Animated Teen Series
Created by Ezra Koenig, this animated teen series features the voice talents of Jaden Smith as melancholy man-about-town Kaz Kaan, joined by his faithful mecha-manservant, pursues deadly demons, beautiful ladies, and and super natural forces amid Neo Yokio's sinister high society.
Also providing voice talent are Jude Law, Susan Sarandon, Steve Buscemi, and Jason Schwartzman.

Long Shot (September 29)

Juan Catalan was arrested in 2003 for a murder he didn't commit. To save his life, all he had to do was prove he was one of 56,000 people at a Dodgers Game that night. That's where Larry David comes in. Footage from his show Curb Your Enthusiasm proved Catalan was at the game.

Transgender legend Marsha P. Johson is known as the Rosa Parks of the LGBT movement. In 1992 she was found in the Hudson River. The NYPD initially ruled it a suicide, but in this film trans activist Victoria Cruz re-examines the case.

Netflix's first Italian series focuses on organized crime & the mafia clashing with political and religious leaders who want to turn a town off the Roman coast into a gambling paradise.

Dynasty Season 1 (October 11) - Excludes U.S.

The Dynasty reboot centers on the charismatic and cunning Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies). When her father, Blake Carrington, (Grant Show) summons Fallon and her brother, Steven, (James Mackay) home to the family compound in Atlanta, Fallon does not get the promotion at her father’s global energy company she had been seeking but the two get to meet their young stepmother-to-be, Cristal (Nathalie Kelley) who, like everyone on the show, hides a secret.

Fe de etarras [Fear of the ETA] (October 12)

This is Netflix's second Spanish original movie. Taking place in the sweltering heat of a small Spanish town, a peculiar, dysfunctional armed terrorist group, the etarras or ETA, find themselves stuck in a flat awaiting a phone call. While they wait, the Spanish national football team wins the World Cup in South Africa, sending the whole country into celebrating.
Director and co-writer Borja Cobeaga called it Friends in a safe house.

Mindhunter Season 1 (October 13)

Two FBI agents interview imprisoned serial killers to solve ongoing cases in 1979.
Produced by David Fincher & Charlize Theron, this series is based on the 1995 book by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. It stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallanay, Anna Torv, and Hannah Gross. David Fincher also helped launch Netflix's House of Cards.
This has already been renewed for season 2.

The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story (October 20)

The the biographical account by Mexican actress Kate del Castillo as she tells her side of the story using never-before-seen footage and exclusive details of what led to the infamous meeting of the world's most notorious drug lords, Hollywood star Sean Penn, and one of Mexico's most famous television actresses. Kate del Castillo stated "As an actress I've been given the opportunity to portray fascinating fictional characters, roles I am very proud of. Now I get the chance to tell my story, my reality, my truth. This project will dive into how it began, why I pursued the rights of the most controversial narco-figures and what happened after."

One of Us (October 20)

Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (October 27)

Netflix Original Documentary
Directed by her nephew Griffin Dunne, Joan Didon crossed more than 50 years of essays, novels, screenplays, and criticism, chronicling the ebb and flow of America's cultural and political tides with observations on upheavals, downturns, and life changes. Footage
includes Didion partying with Janis Joplin, in a recording studio with Jim Morrison, and cooking dinner for one of Charles Manson's women.

Stranger Things Season 2 (October 27)

Netflix Original Series
Season one was set in 1983 where a mother tries to find her son after he disappears mysteriously in the small town of Hawkins.
Season 2 is set one year later, and is more of a sequel than continuation. There will be more scenes in the upside down world, more monsters, and additional settings.
The Duffer brothers have confirmed season 3, and are planning a season 4 as the last season.

All of the original cast is returning, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) while adding two new regulars - Max and Billy. Billy (Dacre Montgomery) is a black Camaro driving bad boy and Max (Sadie Sink) is his tom boy step sister.
Sean Astin will play Radioshack manager Bob, a high school classmate of Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour).
Paul Reiser is Dr. Owens from the Department of Energy, a suit tasked with containing the events from last year.
Roman (Linnea Berthelsen) is an emotionally damaged woman that suffered a loss as a child. She is connected to the lab from season 1.

The Duffer brothers and many writers from season 1 will return.The Duffer brothers will draw inspiration from '80s action-adventure sequels, namely Temple of Doom, The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, and Terminator 2.
Finn Wolfhard who plays Mike suggested watching The Goonies, Aliens, and Ghostbusters in preparation for season 2.

Alias Grace (November 3)

Based on a true story and on the Margaret Atwood novel by the same name, a doctor researches the 1843 case where Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon) was convicted, with a stablehand, of murdering Nancy Montgomery (Anna Paquin) and Thomas Kinnear (Paul Gross). Nancy was Thomas's housekeeper and lover who became jealous of Grace and fired her before being murdered.
It premieres in Canada on CBC September 25, 2017.

In this anime, the city of Fuyuki, seven magi and their Heroic Spirits once clashed in a Holy Grail War. Amid the chaos of the war, a mage made off with the Grail. Decades later, the Yggdmillennia clan of Romania possess the Grail and secede from the Mage’s Association. Angered by the move, the Association sends assassins after them, only to have them wiped out by a Yggdmillennia Servant.
This sparks a new Holy Grail War of unprecedented scale with two factions of seven Servants.

Godzilla: Monster Planet (November)

The first of a trilogy plans to re-imagine the iconic Godzilla. Working with the studio Polygon Pictures, who has animated other Netflix distributed content like Knights of Sidonia and BLAME!, this will be the first high quality animated Godzilla.

Marvel's The Punisher Season 1 (November)

Jon Bernthal continues his role as comic book vigilante The Punisher. Previously seen in Season 2 of Daredevil, now he gets a stand alone series. After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he'll become known as The Punisher.

Dark Season 1 (2017 Winter)

The first German series is a family mystery saga with a supernatural twist that takes the story back to 1986. Two missing children connect four families as they search for the kids in the present day.
The question isn't who kidnapped the children, but when. The years 2019, 1986, and 1953 are somehow linked. Creators are Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese.

Erased Season 1 (Winter 2017)
Netflix Japanese Language Series
In this live action adaptation of the manga, a man somehow possesses the ability to go back in time moments before life-threatening incidents, allowing him to prevent them. When his mother is murdered, he goes back eighteen years to when he was still in elementary school, providing the opportunity to prevent a kidnapping incident of his childhood friends.

Decmber 2017

The Crown Season 2 (December 8)
Netflix Original Series - 10 episodes
Claire Foy plays Elizabeth II and Matt Smith (Dr. Who) plays Prince Phillip. Netflix has committed to 2 seasons/20 episodes, though the show could extend to cover current day.

Michael C. Hall will play JFK in season 2,which will conclude at 1964, which could signal a new cast moving forward. Foy and Smith would be too young to play their respective parts at that point. The creators have mentioned continuing to present day.

Wormwood (December 15)

Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, and Noomi Rapace star in this supernatural cop thriller where orcs and elves co-exist with humans. Two LAPD cops are forced to work together to retrieve a powerful weapon. Joel Edgerton plays an orc.
Directed by David Ayer, principle filming was completed at the beginning of February and a teaser was released.

The 1929 period epic, the most expensive German-language TV series in history, is set against the social and political upheaval of Germany in 1929. The world's most modern and progressive society is threatened by rising right-wing extremism and a world economy teetering on the brink.

The series follows four children who have gone through separations and face new challenges, moving in together, raising each others' kids and coping with exes.
In Sweden step-dad or step-mom titles infer negative connotations, so 'bonus dad' or 'bonus mom' are the preferred titles, which beget the title of the series.

El Chapo Season 2 (2017)

A drama series about Mexico's top drug kingpin during the 2000's, "El Chapo" Guzman, who made headlines in 2015 for the tunnel he used to escape his jail cell. He was head of the largest drug cartel and worth more than a billion dollars in 2009.

Season 1 was based on a 2007 young adult novel. Clay (Dylan Minnette) finds a box on his doorstep addressed to him two weeks after his classmate Hannah ended her life. Inside he discovers thirteen tapes with thirteen reasons why Hannah did it.
Season 2 continues the stories of the characters left behind as they deal with the aftermath, but Hannah will also definitely be back as characters delve into the past during the trial. We'll get answers on Bryce, Alex, and Tyler according to show runner Brian Yorkey and there will be a new piece of technology from the past introduced. Yorkey also stated that while season 1 was Hannah's point of view, and she didn't tell any untruths, there are at least 12 kids who have another point of view.

The Umbrella Academy (2018)

Composed of The Monocle, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Sitting, Number Five, The Horror, and The White Violin, their divergent abilities created a comic with a twisted take on the super hero genre that was dark yet humorous while grounded in reality.
Two comic series were published, Apocalypse Suite and Dallas, with two additional series in development. The comic takes place in an alternate history where JFK wasn't assassinated and is set in 1977. Forty three super human infants were born to women with no signs of pregnancy. The Monocle adopts the seven surviving children. After disbanding, The Monocle's death brings them back together.

Central Park Five (2019)

Ava DuVernay will write and direct the true story with Oprah Winfrey as one of the producers, exposing the breakdown of the U.S. criminal justice system. This series will span from 1989 to 2014 focusing on the Central Park jogger case where Anthony McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise were convicted of assault and rape of investment banker Trisha Meili in Central Park. These five juveniles were convicted twice before their sentences were vacated in 2002 when the real perpetrator confessed to the crimes. The Central Park five were exonerated, reaching a settlement with the city of New York.

Medici: Masters of Florence Season 2 (TBA) - US, UK, Canada, India, Taiwan

This follows the Medici dynasty, set in 15th century Florence, starring Dustin Hoffman as Giovanni di Bicci de' Medici. In season one, Richard Madden from Game of Thrones was the protagonist Cosmo the Elder, who was elected as the head of the Florentine republic and later mysteriously poisoned.
Season 2 will be called Medici: Lorenzo the Magnificent, taking place twenty years after season 1.
A young Lorenzo, the nephew of Richard Madden's character, is forced to take over the family bank, which has been mismanaged by his father. As Lorenzo and his brother try to make Florence a great financial and cultural center, they face off against the Pazzi family, and Pope Sixtus IV.
Sean Bean joins the cast in season 2 as Jacopo Pazzi. Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead) will take the lead role playing a young Lorenzo the Magnificent in 15th century Florence. Bradley James will star as his brother Giuliano.

Netflix is reviving Armistead Maupin's San Franciso set Tales of the City with original cast members Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis returning. This originally aired with both actors in 1993. The revival would be a modern take on the LGBT themed series set twenty five years later, possibly shot in San Francisco. Tales of the City was the first of nine books where Maupin explored alternative lifestyles and San Francisco culture.

Tidelands is Netflix's first Australian original series, a supernatural crime drama that will begin production in 2018. The drama follows the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay where the body of a local fisherman washes ashore. The protagonist must uncover the town's secrets while she investigates the strange inhabitants, a group of dangerous half-Sirens, half-humans called "Tidelanders." Episodes will be fifty minutes in length.

Other users suggested Ava DuVernay should direct and Issae Rae should write. Everyone mentioned showed interested and Netflix won the bid for the movie which should start filming in 2018.
